Excel Barayuga, PAC

Born and raised in Hawaii, Excel hails from the west and north shores of Oahu. His medical training started on active duty as medical technician assigned to the USAF special operations command. He has a diverse background in field casualty care, outpatient family health, and residential psychiatry. He received his Masters of Clinical Health from the University of Washington School of Medicine, his Doctorate of Medical Sciences at Butler University, and rallied the end of his training here at HFP.

Excel enjoys the breadth and depth of medical conditions treated in family medicine and endeavors to build long-lasting relationships with our Big Island communities. Outside of professional endeavors, he seizes every opportunity “from the mountain to the ocean, from the windward to the leeward side”. You can find him in the gym, in the ocean, or in a line for samples at Costco.

Excels clinical and personal experiences are what inform him to offer individualized treatment and promote wellness in all aspects of life

Paul Kyle,

PAC

Paul is a Board Certified Physician Assistant, who received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX Northwest Physician Assistant Program

Before completing his medical education, Paul spent over 12-years on active and reserve duty in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman. As a military servicemember he has worked in all manner of medical specialties including emergency, operational, and family medicine and knows the challenges our veterans and servicemembers face.

Born on Oahu he is of Native Hawaiian ancestry and has deep family and cultural ties to Hawai’i Island. He moved to Hawai’i Island to better serve, reach, and connect with the lāhui of Hawai’i Island and help meet their healthcare needs.

An avid waterman, in his free time you can usually find him surfing, bodysurfing, bodyboarding, or diving, along with spending time with his wife Nicole.

Hannah Montanye, PAC

Hannah is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant, who received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at South University in Richmond, Virginia.

Originally from Maryland, she decided to move here with her husband after visiting and falling in love with the island. On her days off, Hannah enjoys hiking, snorkeling, and relaxing by the beach.

Although she is a newly graduated Physician Assistant, she is thoroughly dedicated to the field and offers a fresh perspective to help her patients become the healthiest versions of themselves.

Hannah works Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Nathan King,

MD

Dr. King is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine.

His previous training and work experiences include, hospitalist medicine, intensive care medicine, clinic based internal medicine, urgent care, and dermatology (focused on skin cancer care). Currently his focuses are on primary care medicine, and skin cancer surveillance and surgery. Dr. King enjoys a diversity of medical practice. In a given day he may be managing acute issues (rashes, injuries, and colds), chronic conditions (diabetes, heart disease, and obesity), identifying skin cancers (melanoma, basal cell, and squamous cell skin cancers) and performing minor surgeries (laceration repair, cyst excision, and skin cancer removal).

Dr. King is available for DOT and Coast Guard Physicals.

Dr. King and his lovely wife Beth have 4 children. He loves cooking, hiking, and teaching. He moved to Hawaii to be near family, and he’s here to stay!

David Arthurs
DO, FAAFP

Dr. Arthurs is a Board-Certified Family Physician with 30 years of experience: He relocated to Hawaii in 2004 after 18 years practicing in Idaho. His practice has included all areas of medicine including hospital care, obstetrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, long-term, and nursing facility care. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, spearfishing, and doing church activities.

Areas Of Special Interest: Preventative Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, and minor surgical procedures such as lesion and wart removal, and joint injections. Dr. Arthurs especially enjoys children.

Beth Catanzaro, MD

Dr. Beth Catanzaro is a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician. She moved to Hawaii to be closer to her family. Her practice encompasses the care of the entire family, newborns care through nursing home facility care, and everything in between including minor procedures, skin biopsy, joint injections, and pap smears.
